Going out with a BANG!

With all the crazy Icelandic vikings on their way home from the great land of United States of America we want to thank all of you who took part in our AMAZING event in Bikini Bottoms Offroad Park October 5. – 8. We were blessed by The Southern Rock Racing Series‘ finals and some UTV action! Every aspect of the event went on so smoothly that we are working on coming back next year. So you better stay tuned for the dates!!

On Friday we saw an ol’ geezer putting his skills to the test AND SUCCEEDED!!! Gísli G. Jonsson manage to be on top after 5 tracks. It only showed that old habits die hard. All Icelanders were thrilled to see him be a part of this event after so many years away and he BROUGHT IT!

We also want to congratulate the new, the great, the AMERICAN CHAMPION in Icelandic Formula Offroad; Þór Þormar Pálsson on the car THOR. The battle was fierce all the way through. Þór and the runner up Geir Evert Grímsson fought until the very last track which was the water skimming. For the first time EVER in Formula Offroad, the Icelandic racers hydroplaned in the DARK! Never in the history of Icelandic Formula Offroad has there been a race on water during night time and to celebrate that THOR was decorated by big FIREWORKS while SKIMMING.

Thank you;
Guðbjörn Grímsson – Organizer of foUSA, co-owner of IcelandicFormulaOffroad.com and owner/driver of Katla Turbo
Bob and Pam Williams – Organizers of foUSA and owners of Bikini Bottoms Offroad Park
Clyde Bynum – Co-Organizer of foUSA and Founder of Southern Rock Racing Series

Special Thanks to;
This would have never been possible if we didn’t have our BRILLIANt Volunteer Rescue Team Flugbjörgunarsveitin Hellu that put in their blood sweat and tears into saving our racers in the hills, making the track and fixing them so the drivers could just roll over them over seconds later.
