The people behind FOIceland want to thank everybody who helped out with the competition last weekend. The volunteer rescue team (FBSH) who came all this way to run around in the dirt and be prepared if something went wrong. The owners of the park, Bob and Pam Williams deserve a huge thanks for their dedication and hard work both in the hills themselves and behind the scenes. With all the paper work to be at everyone’s beck and call.

We thank the drivers who participated in the event. All 16 Icelandic drivers with their teams of 8-20 working day and night to have their vehicles race ready, the teams working together as if we were one big family. No one resented anyone. We travelled all this way to be a unity, to show the americans despite being rivals and longing for the 1st place we can work as one team. We truly showed them that the real rednecks come from Iceland.

We thank those rock bouncers who showed up to compete against the Icelandic buggies and just to be a part of the community we created in the pit area. No one was left out.

Over all the competition itself went as smooth as it could go. Yes, there was a big crash which was hard to be a witness of but thank the lord the driver was able to walk away from that crash with only minor injures. I think I talk for everyone present that the accident made the heart skip a beat in worry. It is the biggest and hardest crash any of us have ever seen but this was a great example of why we have so strict safety regulations when it comes to the chassis. It is a true miracle he didn’t suffer from more injuries than he has.

The event was spectacular. To be a part of something this big and something that will make the Formula Off-Road history books if truly unbelievable. There were many rollovers, many broken axles, transmissions, fires, flat tires, jumps, saves, just name it and it was there. We couldn’t wish for a better area or better contestants to put up a good show for all spectators present. Once more, thank you all for the help. Thank you for supporting our little hobby that is Formula Offroad.
